The single cassette release. The original Herman's Hermits cassette (from whence the sounds came from) re-used and recorded over with the resulting sounds. Yes, the tape quality will be poor, but that's part of the joy. No-one else on the planet will have this joy. Hand-finished.

about

This album is, I suppose, a carbon-negative production. I rode my bike to Caulfield to pick up the cassette from a guy on Inkerman Street. I then recorded back over it, so the only physical version is the one I bought. This version is available for purchase.

'Mrs Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter' is the first piece of music I have deep memory of and connection with. I used to listen to the scratchy 45 on my grandparents' radiogram in Toowoomba. I'd dance around, singing into a microphone made from a pen lid and a piece of string.

There's so much about this song - its identity, my identity - that needs to be decommissioned for the current politic. This work is an effort to correct some of my errors and shortcomings. My history isn't being erased, just decommissioned. You can find it, in parts, disassembled, here. Please, do not attempt to reconstruct.
